The Brief

The clients sought to convert the existing single level cottage into a spacious family home with a good connection between the living spaces and the backyard.

The Outcome

A family home that seamlessly connects to the existing workers cottage whilst maintaining the original scale and character of the cottages street presence.

A first floor addition allowed for more space to be given over to communal and living spaces that provide a direct connection to the outside.

The original scale and character of the cottages street presence is maintained, with new roof volumes behind echoing the original from, but constructed with new materials.
